CHAMPS
SUR TARENTAINE
: is the district capital numbering
a thousand inhabitants. In the north
it is lined by the river Tarentaine, in the south by the
Rhue. This pleasant town, capital of Artense situated
7 km from Bort at 500 m altitude, has a touristical-minded
vocation with a lot of equipment (heated swimming pool,
holiday village, camping along the river, riding center...).
Combined with MARCHAL, the commune offers
to anglers its rivers abounding in fish and its traced-out
paths to promenaders.

TREMOUILLE
: is known for its tableland lakes at
an altitude of 710 m. The natural lake
of La Crégut and all the hydro-electric installation
of the Haute-Tarentaine with 300 ha
of the lake of Lastioule and its nautical base
which is ideal for windsurfing. At the other
end of the village edified around the Gothic church
of the XIVth century you will find
a magnificent forest with shadowy paths. |

LANOBRE
:
its round borough, direct neighbouring village to Bort
and especially
to the castle Château de Val, one of the most beautiful
touristic jewels of the Haute-Auvergne at 630 m altitude.
In summertime, the beach
of Val welcomes swimmers and nautical sports fans.
It is also the departure of boat-promenades through
the Dordogne gorges.
La Siauve, situated a little bit lower at the storage
lake, is another nautical base.
The site du Fraysse is an ideal place to marvel
at the plateau of Artense at the foot of the Sancy mountain.
After a rest at the Dolmen de Vallat, have a promenade
in the forest of Gravières up to the Pont du Diable

BEAULIEU
: altitude
680 m, with its fine grained sand beach and its promenades
in a gabare along the lake, passing by the ruins of Château
de Thynières up to the end of the department.
