The plateau
Limousin above Bort is in fact
an immense forest with a very diverse vegetation :
-
A great number of conifers : larches, pines, firs, spruces
...
|

Numerous essences of deciduous trees : oaks, ash-trees,
beeches, elms, white beeches
What an ideal place to have a walk in hot summer days
!
All excursion paths of the Bort plateau can be taken by
everybody and enable the young excursionists to make acquaintance
with this fragile and beautifull nature (the marks
of the storm in 99 are still visible).. |

The
carpets of evergreens in spring, the leafage
in fall open a different spectacle of light at each hour
of the day and in each season. When August comes, you
have to walk down to the rivers to look for the first
mushrooms ; and in September,
after some rainy days, the whole plateau
is simmering : yellow boletus, chanterelles, trumpets
of death, lepiotas, hydnums, grey chanterelles and many
others fill the collector's basket. |

Attention, however ! We have to respect the nature, it
needs calm and recognition,
and the proprietors have their rights.
